Carter's, located in the Village across the street from Greeks, on University, is only open on the weekends, and from around Midnight to whenever. Carter's is simple: it's a hot dog stand. Formally known as Carter's Nearly World Famous Hot Dogs, it has been listed as number 51 of Sport's Illustrated's "100 Things You Gotta Do Before You Graduate (No Matter the Cost)".
Carter's sells hot dogs, as well as brats, and you can get anything from a plain hot dog to a chili-cheese dog, to anything in between. Prices start at $1 a hot dog, so it is very inexpensive, and, being located in the Village, is close to campus, off-campus housing, and the bars. It's nothing fancy, just a silver hot dog stand with a giant Pepsi umbrella over it, and the menu is written in Sharpie on a piece of cardboard.
The hot dogs? Really good. And be sure to ask for red or yellow on your hot dog, not ketchup or mustard. They are fresh, warm, and come wrapped in some foil. Prefect for something to eat when you have a late-night craving after partying, or want something fun to do with your friends. As for me, Dani, my personal favorite is a hot dog with red. I don't like my hot dogs fancy, but everyone tells me I need to try the chili-cheese sometime. Andrew prefers his hot dogs with red, yellow, and some cheese.

The line can be long, especially on nights were the weather is nice, or weekends with events, but it is worth the wait. Carter himself is really nice, and you'll meet some really interesting people. And if you lose a quarter, you might be able to convince the guy in front of you in line to pay for your hot dogs.
Having a Carter's hot dog is something every BSU student needs to do before they graduate. No question.
